In response to the transformational change taking place across UHL Group, we are introducing a time limited Voluntary Redundancy (VR) Scheme. The scheme has been developed in line with the national NHS model and in consultation with our Trade Union colleagues.
The scheme is now open and will close at 11:59pm on Monday 2 March 2026, with outcomes expected from April 2026.
We understand that decisions about your future can be deeply personal and sometimes difficult. While voluntary redundancy may be the right choice for some colleagues, others may have questions or concerns. Participation is entirely voluntary, and support is available to help you understand the implications and make the decision that is right for you.
The scheme provides an opportunity for colleagues who may be considering leaving, to do so with a severance payment, helping us to protect essential services and supporting our ongoing organisational changes.
Eligibility
To be eligible to apply, colleagues must have at least 104 weeks (2 years) of continuous NHS service by 2 February 2026 and must not have already resigned, retired, or been issued with a termination date. Some exclusions apply, including those in scope to transfer to another employer or those in active performance, capability, or disciplinary processes (where decisions may be deferred).
