Work is already underway to establish task and finish groups for each programme workstream, bringing together the right expertise from across the organisation.
These task and finish group will be looking at the design element - how our systems and current processes will change going forward with a new digital solution. This includes different end user devices, system documentation, and better patient pathways.
Current workstreams are:
- Emergency Department
- Inpatients, AHPs, Medical Secretaries
- Theatres
- Outpatients, Referral Management, Patient Correspondence
- Clinical Documentation / Forms
- PAS, MPI, Users
- Digital Medications
- Order Communications.
We now have a version of the new software and are starting to understand what it can do. Our focus will be on finding the best way to shape it to better support our patients and colleagues.
Next steps
Upon completion of this proposed design, we will then start to build the new solution and will continue to engage with staff to confirm what we build is what we designed together.
Early next year, we will then have an opportunity to safely test these new processes. This will help us refine how things work in real settings and develop training materials, ready for a phased and supported rollout in line with our delivery plan.
